MELLOTT, Ind. (CNS) - Harold Holden, 66, of Mellott, was found dead at his residence about 4:30 p.m. Friday (Feb. 9, 1973). Mr. Holden died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds sometime between 10 p.m. and 12 midnight, Thursday, according to Fountain County Coroner Dr. W. C. Kinser. Mr. Holden had been ill for 20 years. Born Jan. 5, 1907, near Mellott, he was the son of Paul and Ada Pearl Rennick Holden. He married Gertrude Hughes on Feb. 8, 1937 at Danville, Ill. She survives. He was a life resident of Mellott and a graduate of Veedersburg High. He was a machinist and had worked at Danville, Ill., retiring in 1953 because of his health. He was a member of the North Congregation Church of Mellott. Survivors also include his father of Mellott and several cousins. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. EST Sunday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica, with the Rev. Clyde Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  --waw
